Jan Kadletz, Guest Instructor
Baroque Cluster
We are delighted to announce one of our favorite classes of all time, The Baroque Cluster Bracelet, taught by Jan Kadletz, an extraordinarily gifted guest instructor. Jan is the Queen of Color and her ability to create a color feast for the eyes is nothing less than genious. The construction of the bracelet is based on a macrame knot that allows you to make great use of left over or one of a kind beads creating a wearable work of art that can resemble a fantasy garden, an undersea landscape or whatever tickles your fancy. Each bracelet can contain little collections of your favorite beads and colors to delight the eye. Use fruit beads, lampwork beads, flowers and shells, daggers and drops, crystals and fire polished in colors that you choose. Buttons, top and pendant drilled beads work wonderfully in this project. And as Jan says, "too much is not enough", so go crazy. This bracelet will become your favorite piece of jewelry and you will not stop at making just one. Of course, a bonus is seeing Jan's genius at work as she explains how to select your colors to create this work of art. It is a good idea to come in at least an hour before class if you don't have everything or have questions about your bead stash. We have fabulous samples on display at the store. See you in class!

King's Ransom Bead Encrusted Mask
For those of you who have made it into the store over the last two months know what this mask is all about. Jan made a series of masks inspired by the waters of the world, real and mythical. Words cannot describe the creativity involved in making these works of art. People come into the store with mouths agape in awe of these amazing works of art. And Jan, the wonderful and generous person that she is, is sharing her genius once again. This all day class will be the perfect outlet for using up all the odds and ends and I don't mean just beads. We are talking about the one earring that is in your jewelry box that has lost its other half, the silk flower arrangement that has worn out its welcome in your home. Jan can transform unwanted clutter into the most beautiful art worthy of anyone's wall. This is a bit different for us, to have a class that is not related to jewelry but too many people asked for this class to ignore. We call it an all day class but we should really call it an event. This 8 hour day with a lunch break will get you started on your new journey to stir up all those latent creative juices just waiting to get out.

Magnetic Bangle Bracelet
This seed bead bracelet appears to be a bangle bracelet but it has a hidden magnetic closure that allows it to be opened and put on easily. The finished project is a beautiful embellished bracelet that anyone would love to own. The technique used is tubular odd stitch peyote and a bit of embellishment using lampworked beads. Terry Mohs is a very talented beader and a patient instructor who has taught several classes for us in the past. We are very happy to welcome her back to teach this lovely bracelet. Students are required to know tubular odd stitch peyote. For those who are interested in taking the class and do not know the stitch, they can come early and pay a small fee to learn it before class. It is a very important stitch to know and can be used in endless other type of beading projects. We are offering the class just one time, so sign up early. We are only allowing six students for this class. Project will not be completed in class, homework will be assigned.
Finishing times are approximate depending on class size and skill level of each class.
